Recent Findings in Soil Contamination

I recently analyzed soil samples from a former industrial site in Ohio, and the levels of heavy metals were surprisingly high. This raises concerns about both local agriculture and groundwater contamination — i’m curious if anyone else has seen similar findings in their work or has insights on remediation strategies.

I’ve seen similar issues with heavy metals in old industrial areas too. One site in Michigan had such high lead levels that they joked it was a new ‘farm-to-table’ hazard. For remediation, soil amendments like biosolids can help, though it’s essential to monitor their long-term effects. It might be worth discussing this with @SoilScienceGuy for more insight.
